Biography
Ivanov was born on December 4, 1922 in the village of Svyatsk, Klintsovsky district, Gomel province [1] in a peasant family. He graduated from 9 classes. He worked on a collective farm.
In July 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army , from December of the same year he participated in battles with units of the Wehrmacht . He served in artillery in mortar units, then in reconnaissance. Participated in the battles for the liberation of the Novgorod region , the Baltic states .
January 14, 1944 reconnaissance observer of a separate division of 120 mm mortars (54th separate rifle brigade, 22nd army , 2nd Baltic front ) Private Ivanov in a battle near the village of Schenailovo (south of the city of Holm, Novgorod region), moving forward parts of the infantry, discovered about twelve enemy firing points, which were then destroyed.
By order of February 16, 1944, for the exemplary fulfillment of command assignments and the shown courage and bravery, Private Ivanov Mikhail Trofimovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree. (N 16806)
Soon, Ivanov was transferred to intelligence. As part of the reconnaissance platoon of the 85th Infantry Regiment of the 325th Infantry Division of the same army, he distinguished himself in battles for the liberation of Latvia . So on August 10, 1944, in a battle near the village of Udrusam, he was the first to swim across the Iviekste River and destroyed three German soldiers. On August 14, 1944, with a search group in the area of Vilkilige ( Krustpils district , Latvia), secretly made his way to the rear of the enemy and blew up a machine gun with a calculation.
By an order of September 19, 1944, for the exemplary fulfillment of command assignments and shown courage and bravery, Private Ivanov Mikhail Trofimovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
The very next day after the award, the scout again excelled. The assistant commander of the reconnaissance platoon, Senior Sergeant Ivanov, September 20, 1944 at the village of Spirlany (30 kilometers west of the city of Madona , Latvia) carried the fighters into the attack, killed five enemy soldiers and machine guns from a machine gun and grenades. Ivanov distinguished himself in subsequent battles, when crossing the Neman River . On December 9, 1944, having led the capture group, he crossed the Neman River south of the village of Paleki ( Lithuania ) and took the “tongue”.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with units of the Wehrmacht, Senior Sergeant Ivanov Trofimovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree (No. 1411), becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory.
In 1946, foreman Ivanov was demobilized. He lived in the city of Moscow . He worked as a fitter. He died on January 7, 1981. He was buried at the Lublin cemetery .
He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, Glory of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, medals.
