History
On July 1, 1963, as part of developing a defense plan for New Zealand, being impressed by the acquaintance with the military apparatus of Australia, the Minister of Defense established the post of Chief of Defense Staff, to which Peter Phipps was appointed. In 1991, the name of the position was changed to the current - Head of the Defense Forces [3] [4] .
