Salad Mikhailovich Abaev (1913–1989) was a Soviet geologist who discovered 29 gold deposits in Chukotka.

Biography
Born on August 23 ( September 5 ), 1913 in the village of Tsey (now Alagir district , North Ossetia - Alania ), Ossetians .
Until 1927, she was a shepherd .
In 1927–1930, he worked on a collective farm and attended a seven-year school.
In the years 1930-1932 he worked as a miner in the Kochegarka mine in the Donbas in the town of Gorlovka [1] .
In 1933 he was an assistant director of the Buronian mines in North Ossetia.
In 1933-1941 he studied at the geological department of Kharkov State University .
Moved to Siberia. In 1941–1961, he worked in the Nizhnekolymsky Geological Department of Dalstroy of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs (then the Ministry of the Color Industry of the USSR), including as chief geologist.
Moved to the Caucasus. In 1961-1969 he worked as chief geologist, and then managing trust "Sevkavtsvetmetmerazvedka". Since 1970: Senior Researcher at the North Ossetian Institute of Humanitarian and Social Studies.
Died May 30, 1989 , buried in Vladikavkaz on the Walk of Fame .

In 1988, he wrote an autobiographical book, A Life Delivered to Work, in which he spoke about his fascinating life that he passed, from a poorly illiterate tsei boy to a prominent geologist, Lenin Prize winner.

Memory
The name was given to one of the streets Bilibino of the Chukotka Autonomous Region .
