Justification of Symbols

Justification of the symbolism [1] :

The emblem in the language of symbols and allegories conveys the natural, historical and economic features of the Darovsky district.

According to one version, the name of the village of Darovskoye (later - the village of Darovskoy , which gave the name to the district) comes from the Darova River (Darovushki), flowing near the settlement. This was reflected in the church’s charters of Archbishop Dionysius for the construction in 1717 in the Toroschina settlement near the Darova wooden church in the name of St. Modest of Jerusalem (Darovskoye village of Kotelnich Uyezd ). According to legend, in the 17th century, a forest was cleared for the development of villages: trees were uprooted, stumps were burned and these plots were given to landless peasants for temporary use. They gave it free of charge, for free, hence Darovaya (Darovushka), Darovskoye. According to the Vyatka Statistical Committee, a slash-and-fire method of land use existed in the Darovo and several other volosts until the 19th century, when forest plots were given for cultivation, the forest was cut down and burned, and the land was used for agricultural purposes.

These features are symbolically conveyed in the coat of arms: golden hands hold out, as it were, “give”, golden grain, a symbol of fertility. The fact that the “free” land that became the breadwinner was once recaptured from the forest element is indicated by a wooden duck salt shaker, in which grain is poured. A filled duck salt shaker is both a symbol of abundance (“full bowl”) and a symbol of hospitality. In addition, the wooden duck indicates the rich traditions of folk crafts, and in combination with the green color of the cloth symbolizes the developed timber industry in the region.

Three clover flowers in the golden tip also symbolize fertile lands, traditional for the region crop production and dairy farming.

Yellow color ( gold ) symbolizes wealth, nobility and justice.

Green indicates abundance, honor and the desire for victory.

The purple color represents the flowering earth, as well as spiritual virtues, generosity and dignity.
