The population is 231 people (as of December 31, 2006). It covers an area of 12.30 km².
Earlier, Yeggau had the status of a community (commune). In 1910, 405 people lived in Jeggau [1] . On January 1, 2011, along with a number of other settlements, it became part of the city of Gardelegen.
