The 14th Bolivarian Games were held from September 7 to 16, 2001 in Ambato ( Ecuador ). The competition was attended by about 2,000 athletes from 6 countries. The opening ceremony of the Games was held at the <tkmzdbcnf stadium, opened by the Minister of Education and Sports of Ecuador, Roberto Hansa, as the representative of President Gustavo Noboa .
