History
The first mention of the settlement dates back to 992.
On July 13, 1387, Ritterode was sold to the count family of Mansfeld .
On January 1, 2010, after the reforms, the communes of Ritterode and Valbeck , as well as the town of Hettstedt , were merged into the borough of Hettstedt, and the administration of Hettstedt was abolished [1] .
