St. Hilaire Division (First Empire)

Saint-Hilaire Infantry Division ( French: Division d'infanterie de Saint-Hilaire ) - French infantry division of the period of the Napoleonic Wars .

Formed on August 29, 1803 in the camp of Saint-Omer , and was part of the Ocean Coast Army . General Saint-Hilaire was appointed commander of the division.

The division took an active part in the campaigns of Napoleon in Bavaria , Austria , Prussia and Poland . After the mortal wound received by Saint-Hilaire at the battle of Essling , General Grange was led by the division. From this moment until the disbandment, the Infantry Division of Grangean ( fr. Division d'infanterie de Grandjean ).

It was disbanded by the Emperor on March 2, 1810 during the reorganization of the French troops in Germany [1] .
