Alexander Andreevich Zakharov (born June 12, 1993 , St. Petersburg , Russia ) is a Russian professional basketball player playing as a light forward . He plays for the basketball club Spartak-Primorye .

Career
He began to play basketball in his hometown of St. Petersburg . At the age of 7, he began training in the SDYUSSHOR No. 1 of the Central Region, and at the age of 14 he moved to Lobnya , near Moscow, where after one season spent for the city team, he moved to the Khimki basketball club system. In 2013 he made his debut in the main team of the Moscow Region team.
In the season 2013/2014, speaking as part of Khimki-2, he became the champion of VTB United Youth League , and was also recognized as the regular season MVP. As part of the team, Zakharov spent 28 matches in which he averaged 15.9 points, made 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.7 interceptions and earned 16.1 points for efficiency [1] . During the season, Alexander became MVP in December [2] .
In August 2016, he became a player of Irkut [3] . As part of the team, he became the silver medalist of the Super League-1 division , and also entered the symbolic five of the tournament [4] . Spending almost 29 minutes on the court in each match, he was noted for average figures of 14.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
In June 2017, Zakharov signed a 3-year contract with Nizhny Novgorod [5] , but in February 2018, the Nizhny Novgorod club and Alexander came to a mutual decision on early termination of the contract. In the VTB United League, he took part in 11 matches, gaining an average of 3.5 points and 1.5 rebounds. In the European Cup, FIBA also came out in 11 games, showing statistics of 7.5 points and 3.5 rebounds [6] .
Zakharov continued his career at Nevezis [7] , where he scored 13.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
In July 2019, Zakharov moved to Spartak-Primorye [8] .
Russian team
He regularly plays for the Russian national team of various ages. In 2011, he took part in the UEFA European Under-18 Championship , and in 2013 in the UEFA European Under-20 Championship .
In March 2015, Zakharov became part of the expanded reserve team of Russia [9] .
In September 2016, as part of the men's national team of Russia, Zakharov took part in the 3x3 European Basketball Championship, held in Bucharest . According to the results of the tournament, the Russian team took 4th place [10] .
In April 2017, Zakharov was included in the extended list of candidates for the Russian national team , in preparation for Eurobasket 2017 [11] .
3x3 Basketball
At the 3x3 European Basketball Championship, held July 7-9, 2017 in Amsterdam , Zakharov became the winner of the long-distance shots contest. On the first day of the game, he had a great preliminary round, hitting 9 out of 10 from the arc, but the Sunday finals began less successfully for him. From the first point, he sent only one goal to the goal and corrected only the second, scoring 5 out of 5. The fate of the trophy was decided by the last three attempts. Zakharov realized the first two throws and scored 11 points in total. With this result, he was able to beat the Frenchman Angelo Tsagarakis (10 points out of 18 shots), who became the winner of a similar competition at the World Cup in 2016 [12] .
July 15, 2017, as part of the TsOP-1 team from St. Petersburg, Zakharov won the Russian Cup. In the decisive match, TsOP-1 won (13:12) over the NOD team from Voronezh, becoming the owner of the Cup [13] .
Two weeks later, TsOP-1 won the championship of Russia. In the final, the Zakharov team defeated Lapp Russia - 17:16 [14] .
Streetball
July 30, 2016 in Kazan, Zakharov became the winner of the Russian stage of Red Bull King of the Rock 1x1. In the final match, Alexander defeated Kazan Cyril Salmin with a score of 10: 3. This victory allowed Zakharov to get a ticket to the world final in Belgrade [15] .
At the September 17, 2016 World Finals of Red Bull King of the Rock, Zakharov took 3rd place. In the 1/8 finals, Alexander defeated Estonian Ekenberg with a score of 13: 8. In the quarter finals, Serb Nikola Vujovic (9: 3) was beaten. In the 1/2 finals, Zakharov met with Lithuanian Karolis Sharukas. Despite the fact that Alexander failed the first 3 minutes of the match, having missed 6 of 7 shots and conceded “-5”, nevertheless he evened the score 4.5 seconds before the end with a throw from behind the arc, however the Lithuanian scored at the same time as the final siren a fall with a deviation (10:12) [16] . In the match for 3rd place, Alexander met with Georgian Vakhtang Kadaria. Having completed all 4 attacks in the debut of the match, three of them from behind the arc, Zakharov won ahead of schedule thanks to the “clear advantage” rule (11: 0) [17] .
Personal life
On August 15, 2017, a daughter was born to Alexander Zakharov and his wife Alina, weighing 2980 grams and 49 cm tall [18] .
