Nikolai Vasilyevich Polezhaev (born 1956) is a Russian statesman. The head of the administration of the Zhukovsky District of the Kaluga Region (2009—2010), the Mayor of the city of Kaluga (2010-2013), the Deputy Governor of the Kaluga Region (2013-2015).

Biography
After military service in the Soviet army, he graduated from the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute [2] . Since 1973, he worked in the Smolensk region , where he was able to achieve impressive career growth.
In 2003-2008 - Deputy Minister - Head of Department at the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Kaluga Region . The objects supervised by him (Dugninskaya and Nekhochinskaya schools, the maternity ward of the regional hospital, the children's regional hospital) were commissioned ahead of schedule. Contributed to overfulfillment of housing plans of the region (2007-2008), early preparation of an engineering site for the construction of Volkswagen Rus LLC , implementation of housing investment projects (Molodezhny settlement in Kaluga, Kabitsyno village in the Borovsky district).
Since December 2008 - Deputy Head of the Administration of the Zhukovsky District ; since March 2009 - Head of the Administration of the Zhukovsky District. He was deputy secretary of the Political Council of the branch of the United Russia party in the Zhukovsky district.
Since December 25, 2010, he has been acting as the Mayor of the city of Kaluga; on April 15, 2011, he was approved as the Mayor of Kaluga.
From 2013 to 2015 - Deputy Governor of the Kaluga Region . He oversaw the issues of construction, housing and communal services and road facilities, forestry relations, the use and protection of mineral resources, water bodies, and environmental protection [3] .
