Biography
During the First World War , in 1915 (according to other sources in 1917) he entered the 6th Infantry Regiment of the Aosta brigade.
After the war, he participated in an attempt by Italian nationalists to capture Frieme . In 1921, Muti joined the fascist group in Ravenna and in 1922 founded the local organization of the fascist party . Since 1924 he became an officer of the fascist police (MNVP), since 1932 - the consul of the fascist police in Trieste . In 1935 he entered the army as a volunteer, participated in the Italo-Ethiopian war , was a pilot of bomber aircraft, rising to the rank of lieutenant . As part of the Italian expeditionary forces, he participated in hostilities in Spain under the pseudonym Valerie Jim. In 1939, participated in the invasion of Albania .
On October 31, 1939 he was appointed the first (general) secretary of the National Fascist Party, replacing Akilla Starace in this post, but on October 30, 1940, was replaced by Adelka Serena .
After the arrest, Benito Mussolini tried to raise the Nazis to his defense on July 25, 1943 , but on August 24, 1943, Muti died under mysterious circumstances in Fiumicino near Rome . In an official statement made by the government of Pietro Badoglio , it was stated that several shots were fired from a gun from the side of the forest at Muti and its protection, which consisted of carabinieri ; Muti tried to escape, but was accidentally killed by one of the Carabinieri. According to other sources, he was killed by his own guard, as he was in a conspiracy against the Badoglio regime.
In the Italian Social Republic , the Autonomous Mobile Legion was named after Ettore Muti.
