Story
Our days. The solar probe is operated by the Solar and Near Earth Research Laboratory and fulfills its usual scientific mission. Upon receipt of information, a large coronal surge disables the probe. Galileo's manned spacecraft falls under the influence of a solar attack and is destroyed; The reason for the tragedy is explained by the use of low-quality equipment made in Russia.
Meanwhile, the solar ejection pushes the satellites from orbit, turning them into deadly meteors, later New Zealand , which has turned into a huge mass of molten rock, is hit.
Billionaire Lucas Foster is funding a program to combat global warming, he found that the Earth’s atmosphere still has 5% methane in it. When several new emissions collide with the Earth, methane will ignite, due to a lack of oxygen, all life on Earth will die. Foster, who is also a scientist, is trying to convince his skeptical colleagues. The government and fellow scientist Joanna Parks, concurrently - his ex-wife, do not believe Foster.
An analytical report later found that a 25 megaton nuclear warhead detonated at the North Pole could release the necessary amount of steam to extinguish a methane flash. Foster knows the captain of a Russian submarine, who, despite being official, lets him into his submarine. Foster explains that although satellite communications are disconnected, in the south you can communicate via a transatlantic telegraph cable located at a depth of 800 meters. The submarine can dive 700 meters, the lieutenant reluctantly fulfills this request, considering the previous and subsequent actions a violation of subordination. The submarine remains intact after a dive with minor damage. A connection between the captain and the Russian president takes place, the latter confirms that he is informed of the situation from the American president. Foster's plan comes into effect.
Meanwhile, the American submarine discovers the Russian submarine. Before the launch of Russian nuclear missiles, the lieutenant threatens the captain with a gun barrel, Foster takes away his weapon. The Americans threaten to destroy the Russians if they do not give up. Despite the danger, the Russian captain launches rockets, the Americans attack the “enemy” with two torpedoes. Russian submarine takes countermeasures that destroy torpedoes. Americans realize that Russians are well-disposed when they learn about Foster’s presence on the boat.
Missiles hit the North Pole, Earth saved. Foster and his ex-wife are hugging; Foster’s comment on the trip suggests that they can restore their romantic relationship and remarry.
