The 229th Territory Aviation Aviation Taman Red Banner Division ( 229 iad ) was a combination of the Air Forces ( Air Force ) of the Red Army of the Armed Forces of the USSR , which took part in the hostilities of the Great Patriotic War .

The 229th Fighter Division began forming on May 22 and was finally formed on May 25, 1942 according to the Order of the USSR NKO [1] in the village of Slavyanoserbskaya Voroshilovgrad Oblast .

Renaming Division

The 229th Fighter Division due to the reorganization of the Armed Forces was disbanded in accordance with the Law of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR β€œOn the New Major Reduction of the USSR Armed Forces” of January 15, 1960.
