The parliamentary elections in Lebanon were to be held in Lebanon in 2014 , but because of the refusal to elect a new president, the parliament extended its term of office until 2017 . The election date was set on May 21, 2017 [1] , then was postponed to September or October 2017 [2] . The elections were held on May 6, 2018 [3] .

According to the election law, adopted in July 2017, deputies must be elected in 15 constituencies according to the proportional system. 7 constituencies are divided into small constituencies corresponding to the old constituencies. In particular, the counting of preferential votes takes place in small constituencies. In each district, coalitions are formed from different parties and non-aligned candidates.
More than 3.6 million people over the age of 21 were put on the voting lists. 976 candidates fought for 128 seats, including a record number of women - 111 [4] . Now Lebanese give two votes. One is for the whole political list, the second is for the “favorite” inside this list [5] .

Interesting Facts
Some constituencies in the constituencies are made up of participants with different political views, as a new election law was passed in 2017. Now Lebanese give two votes. One is for the whole political list, the second is for the “favorite” inside this list. For every 10% of the vote, the list gets the opportunity to present its candidate for parliament from the constituency. Pass the "favorites" from each list. But in the end, the situation is that at one polling station these or those parties are combined into a common list, while on the other the same parties are opposed to each other [5] .
Lebanese citizens also participated in the polls in the United States and Australia.
