Carpholite ( eng. Carpholite ) - a mineral , chain silicate from the group of carpholite. The chemical formula is MnAl 2 Si 2 O 6 (OH) 4 . The main impurities are Ti, Fe, V, Zn, Mg, Ca, Na, K. Syngonia is rhombic . It has small crystals of amazing shape, the size of which, however, rarely reaches a size of up to 1.5 cm, but more often forms fibrous aggregates and continuous discharge. The color is mostly white to straw yellow, sometimes waxy yellow, greenish yellow, pale cream yellow. It has an average hardness on the Mohs scale, a density of 2.9, a silky sheen. Almost no acids act on carfolite, but it decomposes after fusion with alkali carbonates. Under the soldering tube it swells, whitens and fuses into a white or yellowish-brown pearl. In a closed tube gradually releases water.
