Gold Pulitzer Prize Medal
Pulitzer Prize for an outstanding musical work ( Eng. Pulitzer Prize for Music ) is one of the nominations in the field of Pulitzer Prize music.
In the field of music, the prize is awarded in the amount of three thousand dollars . It is awarded for an outstanding work of an American composer, created in any major form - these are orchestral, choral and chamber works, operas and other compositions [1] .
The Pulitzer Prize for outstanding musical work has been awarded annually since 1943 , with the exception of 1953, 1964, 1965 and 1981. Four people won the award twice:
- Barber, Samuel - 1958, 1963;
- Carter, Elliott - 1960, 1973;
- Menotti, Giancarlo - 1950, 1955;
- Piston, Walter - 1948, 1961.
