Aksuyek ( kaz. Aқsүyek - lit. “white bone”) is a privileged part of traditional Kazakh society ( aristocracy , “blue blood”), standing outside the tribal and zhuz division. Aksuyek belonged to khans , sultans , who descended from the Genghisides and classified themselves as a special kind ( torus ), representatives of the Khoja caste (Kazakh. А ozha), who considered themselves descendants of Arab missionaries. Of the Genghisides-tori, khans who ruled the zhuzes were elected. Aksuyek were not subject to trial by biys , were exempted from taxes. The government of Tsarist Russia limited the influence of the Aksuyeks. Under Soviet rule, they were subjected to political persecution. Now the descendants of the aksuyeks are most often located in areas of the middle and senior zhuz.
