William Fitzalan ( born William FitzAlan ; November 23, 1417 - 1487 ) is an English aristocrat, 16th Earl of Arundel , son of John Fitzalan, 13th Earl of Arundel , and Eleanor Berkeley.

Biography
William was the second son. But his elder brother John died young in a war on the continent, and his only son lived only nine years, so William became the heir to his nephew (1438).
In the Scarlet and White Rose War, Fitzalan was on the side of the Yorks, like his cousins Neville. He fought in the second battle of St. Albans on February 12, 1461, where his brother-in-law commanded the Yorks. In 1471, King Edward IV made him a Knight of the Order of the Garter. Twice (in 1471 and 1488) Fitzalan became the caretaker of the Five Ports.
Family
William Fitzalan was married to Joanna Neville, daughter of Richard Neville, 5th Earl of Salisbury , and Eleanor Holland. In this marriage, six children were born:
