History

The Aksai Nan enterprise, commissioned by the USSR , maintains its position as the main supplier of bakery products in the largest metropolis of Kazakhstan. In 2007, the suspension of the Aksay-nan Almaty plant caused a shortage of bread in the city [1] .

Market Share

Aksai-Nan covers one third of the need of Alma-Ata for bread, which consumes an average of 500 tons of bread daily. The remaining demand is covered by Almaty Nan, Meal, Shiko and other manufacturers. Aksai-nan has a branch in the city of Kokshetau. The structure of Aksai Nan includes the East Kazakhstan Flour and Feed Mill in the city of Semey .

Hard Times

"Aksai nan" survived the crisis of 2008, when the Kazakh leadership artificially restrained bread prices and the plant suffered losses of up to 1,000,000 tenge daily [2] . The enterprise is not always able to maintain the position of a socially responsible player in the economy of Kazakhstan. In connection with the increase in real estate prices in the city of Aktau, the Aksai Nan branch [3] stopped working. To maintain profitability and maintain affordable prices, Aksai Nan takes advantage of all the opportunities that appear, for example, by renting free storage facilities and refrigerators.

Social Importance

Historically, Aksai Nan has been a supplier of bread to orphanages and social institutions in Kazakhstan, making bread accessible to the most disadvantaged segments of the population. Aksai nan for the whole of Kazakhstan produces “social bread” at a price of 65 tenge per bun, making it from first grade flour weighing at least 500 g and achieving its minimum cost, including due to the minimum retail retail allowance. Every day, Aksai Nan produces from 92 tons of social bread [4] .

Upgrade

The sensational accident situation at the Almaty Aksai Nan plant caused a serious review by the management of enterprise security policies. Aksaynan technological modernization and automation was carried out, including the introduction of modern network solutions. During the technological upgrade in Aksayan, an important factor was the preservation of the classic recipe for bread products, as well as the release of new-generation bread products with the function of correcting human health.

In his activities, Aksai Nan considers partners:

  • Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan
  • Akimat of Almaty

Achievements

Aksai Nan is a winner of the Republican contest “The Best Product of Kazakhstan”, which is annually held as part of the Altyn Sapa Presidential Award and has the People's Quality Mark “Perfect” [5] . In 2013, Aksai Nan became the safest enterprise in Kazakhstan according to the International Center for Financial -economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan [6] .
