Biography

At the age of ten, he performed on the concert stage with the Chambery Orchestra, performing a concert by Antonio Vivaldi in the Cathedral of Chambery . He graduated from École Normale de Musique de Paris ( France , Alberto Poncet class) and Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris ( France , in the class of guitar from Roland Dyens and in the chamber music class).

He performed with concerts in Europe , North and South America, India , the Philippines [1] and Singapore , at the German Iserlhon Guitar Festival, Radio France Festival at Montpellier, the Mexican Saltillo Guitar Festival, II Moscow International Festival “Guitar Virtuosos” ”, III International Competition-Festival in St. Petersburg named after A. A. Khorev. Repeatedly performed in Russia ( Moscow , St. Petersburg ). He performs the works of contemporary composers, in particular the works specially written for him by composer Matias Duplessis . In 2015, he recorded the Cavalcada disc with the works of this composer.

Jérémy Jouvet takes part in various musical projects. Among his hobbies are jazz , Indian classical music and electric guitar [2] . Constantly collaborates with tenor Sebastian Droi and guitarist JUDICAEL PERROIS (winner of the GFA in 1997 , the duo was formed at École Normale de Musique de Paris, where both guitarists studied under Alberto Ponce [3] ). Awarded a Grammy Award in 2014. His album Traveling Sonata - European Music For Flute & Guitar , recorded together with flutist Viviana Guzman, was nominated for a Grammy in 2014 [4] [5] .

Since 2004 (when he recorded the disc “Guitar Recital: Jeremy Jouve”) he collaborated with the label Naxos [6] . He recorded two more discs at the studio with the works of Joaquin Rodrigo , whose work the guitarist highly appreciates [7] . Collaborates with Reference Recordings and Melbay.

Rewards

  • 1992 year . I prize at a competition organized for young musicians by the conservatory of the city of Grenoble (at the age of thirteen) [8] .
  • 2002 year . First prize at the International Competition in Tychy ( Poland ).
  • 2003 year . Guitar Foundation of America International Competition (GFA, Mexico ), first prize.
