Karacharovo - an archaeological site, a Paleolithic site in the Murom district of the Vladimir region . Located near the homonymous suburb of the city ​​of Murom on the left bank of the Oka River . The first scientifically investigated Upper Paleolithic monument in Russia.

The exact dimensions of the monument and its current state are unknown. The parking was investigated in 1877 - 1878 . A. S. Uvarov. He found flint tools, cores, flakes, faunal remains. The tools are made of boulder flint of brown, yellow, tobacco colors mainly on the plates, less often on flakes. Among the tools are lateral, angular and middle incisors, scrapers, knives, plates, including those with part-time retouching, points, etc. Nuclei are mainly small. During the inspection of the parking lot, large nucleiculate objects from pebbles were also found, designed to remove plates and flakes. Individual guns have double-sided retouching. Parking is characterized by the presence of plates with a curved profile. Among the faunal remains, mammoth bones , woolly rhinoceros , and reindeer were found. The objects found in the parking lot have replenished the collections of the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the State Historical Museum .

In addition to the Karacharovo site, the Gmelin interstadial (23,000-21,000 years ago) in the center of the East European Plain includes the following sites: Zarayskaya , Gagarino , Penskaya, Chulatovo 1, Kostenki 11 layer 2, Kostenki 21 layer 3, Kostenki 5 layer 3, Kostenki 4 layers 1 and 2, layer Kostenok 1 complexes 1-4, Kostenki 13, Kostenki 18, Kostenki layer 1 , Eliseevich 1 and Eliseevich 2, Oktyabrskoe 2 layer 1, Novgorod-Severskaya, Klyusy, Avdeevskaya complexes 1 and 2 [1] .
