Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology

On October 15, 1896, a hospital was opened at the address: Malaya Yakimanka Street, Building 17. The building was purchased with the money of the Iberian community of sisters of mercy of the Russian Red Cross Society. At first there were two chambers and 6 places for each, in 1897 there was a repair and 16 places appeared, in 1901 a two-story building was added. At the beginning of the 20th century, director I. P. Aleksinsky, chief neuropathologist V. A. Gilyarovsky, chief pediatrician A. V. Grossman ^[1] .

Brief chronology by year ^[1] :

• 1911 - Z. G. Morozov donated 80 thousand rubles. With this money built two buildings. Also, an X-ray room and a laboratory were added to the hospital.
• 1912-1917 - some doctors were sent to treat the wounded in the Serbian war in the Babasinov detachment.
• 1914 - the hospital is organized. 1 field hospital and two mobile.
• 1918 - renamed the Hospital of the 4th Infantry Division.
• 1919 - City Hospital is located.
• 1924 - a department for children was created.
• 1934 - received the status of a children's hospital. The head physician is Ya. S. Shipotovsky. Senior surgeon and founder of the Scientific Research Institute - N. G. Damier . Until 1941, the staff: 14 surgeons, neuropathologist, radiologist, nutritionist, forensic expert. By October 1941, the staff: 2 surgeons, a neuropathologist, a radiologist, a prosector.
• 1963 - expansion of the hospital to 165 beds. Chief physician Buhrashvili, Maya Konstantinovna .
• 1971 - Director Finkelson, Yevgeny Iosifovich .
• 1982 - placement of the Department of Emergency Surgery and Traumatology of Children's Age, Scientific Research Institute of Pediatrics, NZZD RAMS. Director Roshal, Leonid Mikhailovich.

In 2003, the Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology was established on the basis of the KA Timiryazev Children's Clinical Hospital No. 20. A new hospital building has been erected ^[1] .

In 2010, the reconstruction of buildings was completed. The Chetverikovs' house was restored, where the cabinet of Leonid Roshal was located ^[2] .
