Patagonian Tinamou ^[1] ^[2] , or steppe Tinamou ^[1] ( Latin Tinamotis ) is a genus of birds of the family Tinamidae . There are two species found in South America:

Mountain-steppe Tinamou ( Tinamotis pentlandii ) is common in Peru, in the west of Bolivia, northwest Argentina and Chile;
Patagonian mountain-steppe tinamou ( Tinamotis ingoufi ) lives in savannas in southern Chile and in south-western Argentina ^[3] .
