Patagonian Tinamou [1] [2] , or steppe Tinamou [1] ( Latin Tinamotis ) is a genus of birds of the family Tinamidae . There are two species found in South America:
- Mountain-steppe Tinamou ( Tinamotis pentlandii ) is common in Peru, in the west of Bolivia, northwest Argentina and Chile;
- Patagonian mountain-steppe tinamou ( Tinamotis ingoufi ) lives in savannas in southern Chile and in south-western Argentina [3] .
