Suiping ( Chinese: . , Pinyin : Suípíng ) is a county in the Zhumadian City District of Henan Province ( PRC ). The name means “bring peace” and is associated with the suppression of the uprising during the Tang Empire.

History
Under the Han Empire, Ufan County (吴 房 县) was created. Under the North Wei Empire, it was renamed Suining (遂宁 县).
Under the Tang empire in 817, Li Su went into Tsaizhou on a snowy night and crushed U Wanji's rebellion, bringing peace to Tsaizhou; in memory of this, the emperor Xianzong ordered to rename the county of Suining to Suiping.
In 1949, the Xinyang Special Region (信阳 专区) was created, and the county became part of it. In 1965, the Zhumadian Special District (驻马店 专区) was allocated from the Xinyang Special Region. In 1969, the Zhumadian Special District was renamed Zhumadian (驻马店 地区).
By the Decree of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China of June 8, 2000, Zhumadyan District and Zhumadian City County were disbanded, and Zhumadian City District was formed.
