Geography
Railway station ( Manchalovo ) of the line "Moscow - Velikiye Luki - Riga" 13 km west of Rzhev , 250 km from Moscow. The entrance (2 km) from the highway M9 "Moscow - Riga" .
From the station there is a branch to Monchalovsky lime plant ( Zavolzhsky village).
History
The village arose at the station of the Moscow-Vindavo-Rybinsk railway , opened in 1901. The name is from the neighboring village of Monchalovo, Stanovo volost of Rzhevsky district .
The population according to the 2002 census is 564 people, 333 men, 231 women.
Since 1990, in the territory of military unit 67730, there has been a mass grave where the remains of the fallen soldiers of the Red Army from the villages of Brekhovo, Gonchary, Erzovo, Kavezino, Monchalovo, Okorokovo, Pryskovo, Stupino, Shunino are buried. A total of 136 soldiers were buried.
