Biography
Alexander Plotnikov was born in Simbirsk (now Ulyanovsk). In 1926, Alexander Plotnikov graduated from the Central College of Theater Arts and was admitted to the Moscow Lensovet Theater , where he worked as an actor and director until the theater closed in 1941. Alexander Konstantinovich, along with his wife Galina Dmitrievna Lebedeva, a teacher by training, was evacuated to Magnitogorsk, where he worked in concert teams, spoke to the wounded. In the same place, in 1943, the spouses gave birth to a son, Ivan. In 1943-1945 he was an actor and director of the Moscow Theater of Satire, in 1946-1963 he was an actor and director of the Moscow Theater of Drama and Comedy . In January 1964, Plotnikov had to resign and was replaced by Yuri Lyubimov . After leaving the theater, Plotnikov took the post of chief director of the editorial board of the literary and dramatic broadcasting of the All-Union Radio.
He died in Moscow in 1973. The actor was buried in Moscow at the Preobrazhensky cemetery .
