History
Formed on June 7, 1992 in the town of Mali Sitneshi, the oath of soldiers took place on the football field. Participated in the Bosnian war: defended a 42-km border section on the Sava River, also organized a “corridor of life” as part of the operation of the same name. 3338 people passed through the ranks of the brigade, of which 136 died in the war.
Memory
By decree of the President of the Republika Srpska, the team was awarded the Petr Mrkonich Medal for an honest and courageous struggle. The singer Ostoy Yankovich dedicated a song to her [2] . In 2011, on the 19th anniversary, the chairman of the Association of War Veterans from Srbac, Dusko Mitrich, presented each of the veterans with the book “Srbatka Light Brigade in the Patriotic War” ( Serbian. Srbačka laka brigada u otadžbinskom ratu ), which describes the history of the brigade.
