Diego de Desa is the prototype of the protagonist - the monk inquisitor Diego in the novel "Darkness Covers the Earth" by Jerzy Andrzejewski , as well as the film of the same name - an adaptation, which, despite the differences in biography, becomes the successor to Torquemada as the great inquisitor of Spain, after his death.
