Aktyubinsk Reservoir (popularly: “Aktyubinsk Sea” , Kaz. Aqtòbe bògeni ) - a reservoir located along the Ilek riverbed.

Aktobe reservoir was commissioned in 1988, the design irrigation area is 472 hectares [1] . The reservoir is one of three artificial reservoirs near Aktobe and is located 10 km south-east of the city. Others - Sazdinskoe and Kargalinskoe - are located to the southwest and northeast, respectively. The reservoir volume is 245 million m³ (280 million m³ in Kargaly, 6 million m³ in Sazdinsky) [2] .
The Aktobe reservoir is inhabited by carp , bream , river perch , ide , pike perch , ripus , roach and crucian carp [1] . In 2012, 2 million ripus fry were released from the Kostanay region in the reservoir [3] .
