Story

Space lighthouses on the routes were blown up and plundered for the sake of the valuable mineral argonite by a gang of space pirates led by Caven and his assistant Dervish. The cruiser of the Earth Space Corps V-41 under the command of General Ermak and Major Warne notices the destruction of the lighthouse and is sent to detain the pirates. Despite this, another lighthouse explodes, and fragments of it are stolen using attached rocket engines. Ermak landed soldiers on all nearby lighthouses to prevent further attacks.

The TARDIS arrives at Alpha Lighthouse 4 just before the pirates get to it. Caven and his men kill the guard of the lighthouse, and the pirates lock the travelers in one of the sections of the lighthouse before blowing it up. The lighthouse breaks up into several sections, in one of which there are heroes, and in the other TARDIS, and there is no way to reach it. Fortunately, before the oxygen runs out, the heroes are saved by the eccentric Milo Clancy on his old ship Liz-79.

The closest inhabited planet is Ta, which is ruled by Issigri Mining Corporation under the direction of Madeleine Issigri. This company was founded by her father, House of Issigri, and Clancy, and the second is suspected of killing the first, but there is no evidence for this. Ermak flies to Ta, believing that Clancy, whom he considers the leader of the pirates, goes exactly here, and turns out to be right, however he flies away before Clancy and the Doctor arrive with Jamie and Zoe. The latter calculates the trajectory of the lighthouse segments and finds out that they will also arrive on Ta, and the Doctor and his friends will soon find the pirate headquarters. They walk away from the capture and meet Clancy again.

Meanwhile, Caven forces Dervish to redirect some of the wreckage to Lobos, where Clancy has a base, thereby reinforcing suspicions about the latter. Obviously, one of them told him about the suspicions of the Corps about Milo. Ermak and his team recognize the trick, but it takes them time, and they examine Lobos, while all the action takes place on Ta.

The doctor and his team get to Madeleine Issigri's office, and it becomes obvious that she is at the same time as Caven, and the travelers are captured. The prison also contains the living, but frightened and exhausted House of Issigri. In the meantime, Madeline is about to break off the alliance with Caven, sending Ermak a radiogram asking him to land on Ta. Caven claims power by telling Madeline that her father is alive and threatening to kill him if Madeline is not faithful to him. She calls Ermak again and asks not to fly to Ta. The doctor and his friends, meanwhile, run away with the weakened House of Issigri and head for Liz-79. Caven guesses this and makes Dervish shut off the oxygen to the ship. Only Milo and House board the ship, their life is in danger, and callousness to Caven in this situation convinces Madeline to not support him anymore. The doctor, Jamie, and Zoe save their friends, and Dom contacts Ermak to explain the situation to him.

Caven takes a desperate step, threatening to destroy Ta, Issigri base and a ship in orbit with bombs on them. The doctor turns off the detonator at the last moment, and Major Warne explodes the ship of Caven and Dervish. Ermack's ship lands, and Madeleine wants to reunite with her father, but knows that she will be imprisoned for participating in the conspiracy, and the Doctor and his companions are preparing to search for the TARDIS on fragments of the lighthouse.
