Career

Tom Dumoulin made his professional cycling debut in 2010 with the ParkHotel Rooding team, in which he won the 7th stage of the Giro Bio (the famous race in Italy for the search for young talents) and the general classification of the Portuguese Grand Prix. At the World Championships in the individual race among the underders, the Dutchman took 7th place.

In 2011, the athlete joined the Rabobank Continental Team, but did not gain much success there: the best result is a victory in the overall standings of the multi-day race Le Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux. At the World Championships in the individual race among the underders, the Dutchman took 8th place.

Since 2012, Dumoulin has been the racer of Project 1t4i (current name Team Giant-Alpecin ). As part of this team, Tom began to show himself as a good sharer: in 2013 he became the second in the general classification of Eneko Tour .

And in 2014 there was a breakthrough in the career of a cyclist. He became the champion of the Netherlands in the race with a separate start, won the butchering at the Criterium International , took second place in the final protocol of the Tour of Belgium and Tour of Albeta, simultaneously winning the nomination for the best young rider, finishing second in the Grand Prix of Quebec and third in the general classification, Eneko Tour in passing separate start stage. The hot spot at the end of the 2014 season was the bronze medal in the individual time trial at the World Championships in Spanish Ponferrada , where the young Dutchman lost only to Bradley Wiggins and Tony Martin .

The beginning of the 2015 season, Tom marked the victory in the butchering at the 6th stage of the Basque Country Tour .
