About Thumbnails
In miniatures, Fallon acts as "Nick Burns," a caricature of a typical computer expert. Burns is a system administrator in a large corporation that hangs on his phone all the time to support users. It is presented in the form of a nerd, hung with pagers and cell phones. He wears a thin mustache, walks shaggy all the time, and speaks on Lisp . He hates his problem users, whom he has to help, so he usually taunts and scolds them.
He begins to deal with the problem, shouting commands to the character at the computer in incomprehensible technical jargon, and quickly loses his temper from his technical illiteracy. Ultimately, he shouts his catchphrase “GO OUT!”, Sits down at the computer and solves the problem on his own, complaining about the obviousness of the solution (“Was it really that hard?”). Two fragments are constantly present in the miniature: at first, as soon as it is mentioned that Nick Burns is in the office, Chris Katten’s character mumbles: “I don’t like this guy,” and at the end Burns leaves, then he comes back and shouts sarcastically, “And by the way, PLEASE ! "
Horatio Sanz plays the role of a user whom Burns regularly touts for his weight. In one episode, Burns almost succeeds in kissing his familiar nerd, played by Calista Flockhart , but they are interrupted by the call of one of their pagers. In another episode, Billy Bob Thornton starred as Nick Burns' father.
