Geography

The territory of the urban settlement occupies the eastern part of the district and borders on the urban settlement Plyussa in the west, in the south with the Strugokrasnensky district of the Pskov region , in the north with the Leningrad region , in the east with the Novgorod region .

On the territory of the urban settlement there are lakes: Pesno (4.85 km², depth up to 3.1 m), Zaplyuske (2.55 km², depth up to 3 m), etc. [3]

History

By the decision of the Pskov Oblast Executive Committee of October 12, 1956 for No. 345, the Zaplyus Village Council was formed from part of the lands of the Zapolsky Village Council [4] .

By the decision of the Pskov Oblast Executive Committee of July 10, 1961, for No. 265, Zaplyusye village was given the status of a working village (urban type settlement), and the Zaplyusky village council was transformed into Zaplyusky village council [4] .

The status and boundaries of the urban settlement are established by the Law of the Pskov Region dated February 28, 2005 No. 420-OZ “On Establishing the Borders and Status of Newly Formed Municipalities in the Pskov Region” [5]

According to the Law of the Pskov Region dated March 30, 2015 No. 1508-OZ “On the Transformation of Municipalities”, the rural settlement Zapolsky volost was included in the urban settlement Zaplyusye with a center in the working settlement Zaplyusye [6] .
