Willem (Wim) den Boer ( niderl. Willem "Wim" den Boer ; October 4, 1914 , Rotterdam - February 16, 1993 , Leiden ) is a Dutch classical scholar and anti-historian . Professor of ancient history of the University of Leiden (1946-1979), its rector in 1963-64. Member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences (1969). Author of more than one hundred scientific papers.

The son of a shipbuilder. He studied theology and then classical philology at the University of Leiden (bachelor, 1940), where he received his doctoral degree (Ph.D.). Since 1946 he taught there, professor, was the dean of the Faculty of Arts.
