History
At the end of the 16th century, the village of Perkhushkovo belonged to the boyar Nagoy , the uncle of Ivan the Terrible’s wife. In 1601, Semyon Nagoy gave a quarter of his possessions to the Luzhetsky Monastery . The wooden church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built on this land with the aisle of St. Nicholas . In the scribe books of 1627 it says: “ In the village on the monastic land there is the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos and the limit of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is woody, dumpling: and in the church are images and books and vestments and bells and any church structure of the estate and parish people ... ” [2] .
The last owner of the village from the descendants of the Nagih clan was A. A. Cherkassky . In 1743, he turned to the spiritual authorities for permission to build, instead of a dilapidated church, a new one, also made of wood, with an aisle of St. Nicholas. By decree of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna and the definition of the Moscow Spiritual Consistory in September 1746, the Protopop of the Kremlin Assumption Cathedral Theodore Martemyanov consecrated a new church [2] .
The construction of a stone church in the village of Perkhushkovo was carried out by the efforts of the next owner of the estate, Colonel M. A. Yakovlev . In 1758, he petitioned the Moscow Spiritual Consistory with a request to allow the construction of a stone church in honor of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos with an aisle of St. Nicholas. But in the process of construction, it became clear that the new dimensions of the temple make it possible to arrange three chapels in it. Therefore, in 1763, he writes a new petition in which he reports on the completion of the construction of the stone church and asks to consecrate the chapels in honor of the Savior Not Made by Hands , St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and St. Dimitry of Rostov .
During the invasion of Napoleon, the church was desecrated and plundered, icons, valuable utensils and sacristy items from silver were stolen, gilded carved iconostases were damaged. Inside the temple, the French set up a stable [2] . After the expulsion of the French invaders, the church was again renovated and consecrated.
In 1863-1868 the temple was rebuilt. He lost the original shape of an equilateral cross and became rectangular. The main building was connected to the bell tower " to spread a warm church " [2] . In 1876, the central volume was painted with pictorial writing. Three years later, according to the project of the Moscow architect I. S. Semenov, the bell tower was built on. The ringing consisted of seven bells.
In August 1886, in memory of the liberation of the peasants from serfdom by Alexander II , in the left wing of the main altar the chapel of St. Right Prince Alexander Nevsky. According to the description of 1887, the thrones in the church were dedicated to: the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Alexander Nevsky, the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and St. Nicholas, which has remained unchanged to this day.
In 1884, a zemstvo hospital was opened in the village of Perkhushkovo. In 1891, a wooden chapel was built at the hospital, designed by architect F.O. Bogdanovich. Priests of the Intercession Church nourished the Perkhushkovsky shelter for chronic patients and a nursery.
In May 1930, local authorities tried to close the temple. The community of believers was announced a huge amount of insurance premium arising from an incorrect insurance assessment of the church building. Believers protested the amount of the contribution to the All-Russian Central Executive Committee and were able to prove their case [2] . The temple was closed only at the beginning of 1941, but did not have time to ruin.
In 1944, the Council for the Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church received a petition from the Orthodox community in the village of Perkhushkova and surrounding villages to open a church. This appeal was supported by the Chairman of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, M. I. Kalinin [2] , after which regular worship services resumed in the Intercession Church.
In 1960, by Decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR of 08.30.1960 No. 1327 (Appendix 1), the Church of the Intercession, together with the neighboring estate of Herzen, was assigned the conservation status of an architectural monument of federal significance [1] .
In 2004, in the new building of the Perkhushkovskaya hospital, a house hospital church was created in honor of the healers of the disinterested Kosma and Damian of Rome . The first service took place on July 14, 2004, on the patronal feast of a small church. From then until now, services in the hospital church have been held weekly.
On June 15, 2014, during a thunderstorm, ball lightning struck the drum of the temple head. There was a partial destruction of the drum. The restorers and EMERCOM operatives who arrived promptly concluded that there was a serious threat of the collapse of the cross and its foundation in conditions of worsening weather (thunderstorm, rain, gusty wind). In order to eliminate the danger to people's lives and prevent further destruction of the temple, a decision was made to urgently dismantle the entire pommel of the temple, including the surviving part of the drum, poppy head and cross [3] .
As of 2015, there are children's and adult Sunday schools at the temple, and children are constantly participating in worship in the children's choir.

From an architectural point of view, the church is a centric tiered temple in the late Baroque style with a bell tower. Originally cross-shaped in plan, the building subsequently acquired a rectangular shape as a result of the construction of crossroads with reduced volumes. Above the center of the cross there is a light quadruple , which is crowned by a tier head. On the western side of the temple adjoins a three-tier bell tower . The church is decorated with paired pilasters , rusticated in some places, and flat platbands . The upper tier of the bell tower was built with a noticeable influence of the pseudo-Russian style [4] .
