Pai (monetary unit of India and Pakistan)

Stamp with face value of 1 annu and 3 shares
1 ⁄ 12 anna coin or 1 share

Pai is the smallest monetary unit in India, equal to ⅓ paise , 1 ⁄ 12 anna or 1 ⁄ 192 rupees [1] [2] .

Pye had his designation " Ps ". On coins of British India with a face value of 1 share 1 ⁄ 12 annas were indicated [3] . After India gained independence, the existence of this currency became irrelevant. The depreciation of the rupee deprived the unit of any purchasing power. The last coin with a face value of 1 ⁄ 12 anna or 1 share was minted in 1942 [3] .

Pakistan, after independence in 1947 and the introduction of the Pakistani rupee in 1948, issued bronze coins in 1 share in 1951-1957.
