The early years
Sean Deutsch was born and raised in Kettering . My father was a management consultant at British Steel . Sean has 2 brothers [2] .
Player Career
Deutsch started on the Nottingham Forest youth team in the late 1980s. Career development was greatly hindered by a leg fracture received at the very beginning [2] . Deutsch did not play for Nottingham Forest and moved to Chesterfield .
It was at Chesterfield that Deutsch made his professional debut. In total, he will spend 7 years in the club, become a captain, the team will win the playoffs of the Third League in 1995 and will reach the semifinal of the FA Cup in 1997, where, despite the Dutch goal, Chesterfield will lose to Middlesboro (3: 3 in the first match , defeat 0: 3 in the replay).
In 1997, Deutsch moved to Bristol City and in the very first season helped the team enter the First Division . Helped the team to upgrade to first division in the first season. Deutch spent most of the next season at Luton Town on loan, and at the end of the championship the defender moved to Millwall . With Millwall, he once again managed to move from the Second Division to the First, and the next season was close to entering the Premier League - in the playoffs, Millwall lost to Birmingham City .
After leaving Millwall, Deutsch played for three years at Watford (in the 2004/05 season he was captain), after playing for Northampton Town [3] . In 2007, after the change of coach, he lost his place in the squad and left the club at the end of the season and ended his career [4] .
Coach Career
After completing his career, he returned to Watford as a youth team coach [5] . After Malki Mackay was appointed head coach in 2009, Deutsch was appointed his assistant [6] . After 2 years, Mackay left Watford to head Cardiff City , and Deutsch took his place [7] .
Watford finished the following season in 11th place in the Championship with 64 points in the asset - the best result since the 2007/08 season and better than in any of the seasons under McKay. Despite this, after the change of ownership of the club, Deutsch was fired, his successor was Gianfranco Zola [8] .
For some time, Deutsch worked at the headquarters of the England youth team [9] . October 30, 2012 he was appointed head coach of the Burnley Championship football club [10] . Under Daych, the Burnley showed the best start in history, in September 2013 he was named the Coach of the Month in the Championship. This season, many club records were broken, and a 2-0 home victory over Wigan on April 21, 2014 brought the club to the Premier League for the first time since 2010 [11] . After a year spent in the top division, the team returned to the Championship for a year, and again returned to the Premier League in 2016.
