Alexander Ivanovich Nevostruev (August 26, 1806 - April 1, 1872) - Russian religious figure, theologian, teacher, spiritual writer, archpriest of the Moscow Kazan Cathedral .

Father - John Feodosievich Nevostruev (-1831), priest of the Spassky Cathedral in Yelabuga, later a teacher at the seminary [1] . Younger brothers: Michael (23.10. 1807 −27.04. 1881), archpriest of the Kukarsky Trinity Cathedral [2] . Vasily - graduated from the Bethany Theological Seminary (1834) and the Moscow Theological Academy (1838), Kapiton , Nikolai - who studied at the Simbirsk, but graduated from the Kazan Theological Seminary [3] .
At the end of the course at the Vyatka Seminary, he received higher spiritual education at the Moscow Theological Academy , in which he graduated from the course in 1830; he was soon invited as a professor to the Bethany Seminary. Since 1832 he continued his teaching activities as a bachelor of the Moscow Theological Academy in Greek and civil history; from 1834 to 1841 he was archpriest of the city of Kolomna , deanery and rector of theological schools; from 1841 to 1848 - the law teacher of the Moscow Alexander School. The last 24 years of his life was archpriest of the Moscow Kazan Cathedral.
He wrote a lot of works, but did not like to print them. The main subject of his research was the study of the text of St. The scriptures , primarily the composition and language of the Slavic church-liturgical books; fluent in Hebrew, ancient and new European languages, he critically compared Russian liturgical books with Greek for subsequent corrections, compiled alphabets and indexes to a number of liturgical books; in addition, in his numerous papers, extensive material was discovered that he collected for the church-biblical dictionary. He died in Moscow and was solemnly buried in the cemetery of the Intercession Monastery. Under his supervision, the “Ancient Gospel for the Bulgarians” (Moscow, 1847) and the “Conversation on the memory of Moscow’s deliverance through the miraculous Kazan Icon of the Virgin Mary” (Moscow, 1865) were published [4] .
