"The General Encyclopedia of S. Orgelbrand " ( Polish: S. Orgelbranda Encyklopedia Powszechna ) - the second encyclopedia published in Polish , the first big encyclopedia. The initiator of its creation was a prominent Polish-Jewish publisher and bookseller Samuel Orgelbrand (1810-1868). Unlike the first encyclopedia New Athens (1747), the General Encyclopedia of S. Orgelbrand became the first universal Polish encyclopedic reference book. It was published in Warsaw, the capital of the Kingdom of Poland , which was part of the Russian Empire in the 19th century.
In total, the publishing company Samuel Orgelbrand released three encyclopedias (in five editions):

- The Universal Encyclopedia of S. Orgelbrand (1872) , 12 volumes, Warsaw, three editions: 1872-1876; 1877-1879; 1883-1884;
