Biography
Born on April 26, 1939 in the village of Sadovniki, Leninsky District, Moscow Region .
In 1957, Nefedov graduated from high school with a gold medal, in 1963 - the Moscow Energy Institute , after which he worked at the Institute of High Temperatures of the USSR Academy of Sciences , later he was the scientific secretary of the institute, head of the department of the Low-Temperature Plasma Physics Department [1] .
He took an active part in the development of magnetohydrodynamic installations, investigated the principles of operation of magnetohydrodynamic generators, in 1971 he defended his thesis on the topic "Development of methods for diagnosing heterogeneous flows in channels of MHD generators". Later, Nefyodov was actively studying the methods for diagnosing plasma characteristics, leading the development of a number of diagnostic devices. In 1989, he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic “The main characteristics of low-temperature plasma flows in power plants. Measurement methods and results ”, in 1991 he was awarded the title of professor [1] .
Since 1993, Nefyodov worked at the Research Center for Thermophysics of Pulse Interactions of the Russian Academy of Sciences as a deputy director for scientific work, director of the center, executive director. Working in this center, Nefedov actively conducted plasma studies, including in space. Scientific activities combined with teaching work, in 1998 he headed the Department of High Energy Density Physics of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology . In 1999, Nefyodov was awarded the title of Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation [1] .
He died on February 19, 2001, was buried at the Vvedensky cemetery of Moscow [1] .
