Felix Livshits (born April 2, 1967 , Donetsk , Donetsk Oblast , Ukraine ) is an Israeli opera singer, lyrical tenor. Laureate of the Rosenblum Prize in Performing Arts. He has toured in more than 40 countries of the world.

Biography

Felix Livshits was born on April 2, 1967 in the city of Donetsk, Ukraine. In 1988 he graduated from the Donetsk Music College. In 1989, he won the Grand Prix of the All-Ukrainian contest of young performers. In 1993, after graduating from the Donetsk State Conservatory named after Prokofiev (class of Honored Artist of Ukraine Yuriy Kosenko), was accepted into the troupe of the Donetsk Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. For three years of work in the theater, he was the performer of leading roles in Verdi's operas La Traviata (Alfredo) and Nabucco (Ismail), Rachmaninov Aleko (Young Gypsy), Donizetti Lucia di Lammermoor (Edgardo), Rimsky- Korsakova “The Tsar’s Bride” (Lykov) and many others. He toured with the troupe of the theater in Spain and Italy.

Since 1996, lives and works in Israel, collaborates with the New Israeli Opera, on the stage of which he performed more than forty opera parts. From 1996 to 2005, he took part in master classes at the Israel Institute of Vocal Art (IVAI) under the guidance of Joan Dornemann. He was a scholarship holder of this institute annually.

For seven years, he completed an internship in vocal skills in New York with Patricia McCaffrey, Renata Scotto and other teachers at the Metropolitan Opera .

He played leading roles in the opera Bordeaux (France), in the Paris opera Chatelet ( Théâtredu Châtelet ), the Budapest opera , at international opera festivals in Karlstad (Sweden), on Mount Masada in the opera Verdi "Nabucco", in the throne room of the Royal Palace in Stockholm ( Sweden), performed the part of Cavalier De Grieux, in the Masson opera Manon.

In the Leoncavallo opera Pagliacci, he worked with the outstanding director Franco Zeffirelli .

Repeatedly takes part in opera productions of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Zubin Meta .

In 2005, with tenors Evgeny Shapovalov and Vladislav Goray, he created the program “Three tenors from the Holy Land”. The program was a huge success. They applauded them in Israel, in the largest cities of the United States of America and Canada, in Central and South America (Costa Rica, Guatemala, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay), in Russia, Ukraine and China, in Western Europe. The program continues to gather full halls today.

In 2008, he became a laureate of the Rosenblum Prize in the field of performing arts for performing the part of Lensky in the opera Eugene Onegin (Best Theater Work of the Year.)

In 2014 he made his debut as an opera director and producer in Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera Mozart and Salieri.

His repertoire includes more than 50 opera parts, 40 liturgical and oratorio works, which he performs with leading Israeli orchestras and conductors.

Sings in 12 languages: English, Hebrew, Yiddish [1] , Spanish, Italian, German, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, French, Ukrainian, Czech. In his repertoire there are about 1,500 arias from operas and operettas, canzonetts, romances, ballads and songs. Felix Livshits pays great attention to solo concert activity, being considered one of the best Yiddish performers.
