Biography
Born on August 31, 1906 in Athens. He graduated from the Theological School of the University of Athens .
On June 7, 1930 he was ordained a deacon , and in 1933 he was ordained a presbyter by the Archbishop of Athens Chrysostomos (Papadopoulos).
In 1934 he was appointed rector of the Pendeli Monastery , and in 1941 - the protosynkel of the Athenian Archdiocese.
February 28, 1942 was ordained bishop and elevated to the dignity of Metropolitan of .
After the retirement of Metropolitan Polycarp (Synodinos), on October 13, 1945 he was elected Metropolitan of Messina. During his control of the metropolis, he actively opposed the Greek old-style movement and Metropolitan Chrysostomos (Pulupatis) [1] .
He died suddenly on April 14 (according to other sources - April 16), 1961 in Koroni . The funeral service and burial, which was performed by the Archbishop of Athens Theoklit (Panayotopoulos) , took place on April 18 in Kalamata. He was buried in a cemetery in Kalamata.
