Beheaded

The group was created in 1991 by vocalist Marcel Scalpello ( Malt. Marcel Scalpello ), guitarist David Bugey ( Malt. David Bugeja ) and drummer Chris Brincat ( Malt. Chris Brincat ). The first release, the Souldead demo, was released a few years after the band formed, and some time later the demo caught the attention of the Swedish label X-Treme Records, in collaboration with which the band released their debut album Perpetual Mockery (1998). The album was a failure, but at the same time, the group manages to go on a joint tour of Europe along with a number of other heavy metal artists. Subsequent releases of the group, in particular, the mini-album Resurgence of Oblivion (2000) and the album Recounts of Disembodiment (2002), were recorded in a slightly different, less atmospheric style ^[2] ; they were restrained by musical critics ^{[4] [5]} .

In the 2000s, “Beheaded” took part in various metal festivals in the USA and Germany ^{[6] [7] [8]} , and in 2013 the musicians participated in a tour of Europe. In 2012, they became laureates of the local music award “Malta Music Awards” in the nomination “Best Metal Band” ^[3] .

The composition of the team changed quite often; ultimately, there was not a single member from the original roster in Beheaded. The group currently includes vocalist Frank Calleja ( malt. Frank Calleja ), guitarists Omar Grech ( malt. Omar Grech ) and Simone Brigo ( Italian. Simone Brigo ), bass player and vocalist David Cachia ( malt. David Cachia ) and drummer Davide Billia ( Italian: Davide Billia ) ^[9] .
