History
The history of the land has been known since the 1620s, when the territory was divided between the Pechersky monastery and the nobleman I. Pisemsky [2] . In the middle of the XVII century the estate of I. M. Miloslavsky was located here [2] .
In 1659, the New Pharmaceutical Court was located here. In the 1670s, active construction began, led by Guriy Varfolomeev. A refectory chamber was created along the Starovagan lane [2] .
At the beginning of the 18th century , the diplomat V. L. Dolgoruky became the owner of the building. Presumably, the Gardener’s House was erected with him. After the arrest of Dolgoruky, possession passed to the “Tsar of Georgia Vakhtang .” Then a stone house was built (presumably according to the project of P. M. Eropkin ) [2] .
Having retired, the plot on Vozvizhenka was bought from Prince George Bagration by a secret adviser Alexander Fedorovich Talyzin . Presumably according to the project of M.F. Kazakov , a three-story building with two wings was erected by 1787. Its facade is captured in Kazakov's “Architectural Albums” [2] .
In 1805, the ruined General Stepan Talyzin sold the building to the merchant M. A. Ustinov . The construction was reconstructed : two-story transitions appeared between the main house and the outbuildings, empire decorations on the facade . Under the Ustinovs, the mansion became one of the cultural salons of Moscow , which was attended by famous personalities [2] .
In 1845, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Empire became the owner of the building, transferring it to the Moscow County Treasury and the Moscow Treasury. In the 1890s, a third floor appeared over the side parts of the structure. In this form, the estate has survived to the present day [2] .
In 1920, the secretariat of the Central Committee of the RCP and the offices of I. V. Stalin and his secretaries were located in a mansion [2] . In the 1930s, the hostel housed a dormitory , then communal apartments [2] .
After World War II, part of the architectural structure was transferred to the A.V. Shchusev State Museum of Architecture .
