Biography
Born in a Lithuanian peasant family. Lithuanian. Dependent of parents, Dirziai 07.1910-06.1912; laborer, loader in the port, Riga 06.1912-05.1915 [3] .

Member of the CPSU (b) , deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 2nd convocation . In 1944-1949 and in 1949-1952 he was a candidate member of the Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Lithuania . Shortly after the death of I.V. Stalin , on March 16, 1953 he lost his post, and on May 30, 1953 he was sent to retirement . In 1955-1959, a member of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Lithuanian SSR .
Moreover, at the request of Snechkus , in 1945, the People's Commissar of Internal Affairs of the Republic, Bartashunas, appealed to the deserters and armed bandits with shelter in the woods with a proposal to lay down their arms , called for confession , guaranteeing the inviolability and full legalization of everyone except the former punishers . Five thousand people came out and surrendered voluntarily, who were issued Soviet passports and certificates on the spot, in district departments, that a person has no sins before the new government and is a full citizen . Everything was done in order to avoid unnecessary, unnecessary victims, to not really slide into the bloody swamp of the fratricidal civil war ... [4]
