History

In June 2014, it was announced that Apple plans to stop developing iPhoto and Aperture . Users will be prompted to switch to Photos, while existing photos and videos will be moved automatically (you won’t need to import them again).

Features

The photo is intended for easier work with photos than its predecessors. Photos are organized by “moments”, by time and place where photos are taken from the metadata attached to the photo.

Editing

Photo provides a basic set of tools for editing photos : the ability to crop and rotate photos, change brightness, contrast, retouch individual elements. The program has been criticized for the lack of advanced tools that Aperture users are used to [1] .

ICloud Library

ICloud Media Library ( iCloud Photo Library ) is deeply integrated into the program: photos and videos are saved and synchronized with Apple devices that include iCloud Photo Library (for example, Mac , iPhone , i Pad , Apple Watch ). By default, the user is given 5GB of space as part of a free iCloud account. Additional space is available by subscription.
