After completing his special education in Berlin and several years of practical activity, he was elected professor in 1870 at the Dresden Veterinary School, and in 1879 he was appointed inspector of the veterinary department in Saxony (Landesthierarzt). His scientific works - pathological and anatomical and pathological and physiological studies - were published in Berichte uber das Weterinarwesen im Konigreich Sachsen. Together with Victor Hofmeister he compiled Anleitung zur mikroskopischen und chemischen Diagnostik ( 1876 ) [1] .
