Interesting Facts
In September 2000, a peat harvester operating near Ukhta processed together with peat a part of the human body - pieces of spine, skull fragments and hair were found in peat, and in 2005 they found a mummified right human hand in the same peat mines. The mummy was called “girl from the Ukhte peat bog” ( en: Girl of the Uchter Moor ) or “Mora” (from the German word “das moor” - peat bog, bog). According to forensic experts, the girl died at the age of 17-19 years. According to radiocarbon analysis , the girl died between 764 and 515 years BC [2] [3] .
