Crater Description
Carol Crater is located on the northern side of the shaft of Ibn Firnas Crater. In addition to it, a number of small craters within the bowl of the Ibn Firnas crater and its rampart received their own names - these are the craters Casper , Melissa , Even , Romeo and Shahinaz .
Other nearby neighbors of Carol Crater are Ostwald Crater in the north; Recht Crater in the northeast; Morozov Crater in the southeast and King Crater in the southwest. Also in the southwest of Carol Crater, within the King Crater, are the peaks of Dilip , Andre , Ardeshire , Dieter and Ganau [2] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater are , diameter 6.3 km [3] , depth 1.3 km [4] .
Carol Crater has a circular shape, its southwestern part is blocked by Casper Crater. Together with the craters Melissa and Casper, Carol forms a chain of craters. The shaft height above the surrounding area reaches 300 m [4] , the volume of the crater is approximately 20 km 3 [4] . The bottom of the bowl is relatively flat, with no noticeable structures.
