Akkoz-batyr Kosanuly ( Kazakh. Akkaz-batyr Kosanuly [1] 1859 - 1921 , Novotroitsk , Turkestan ASSR , RSFSR ) - leader of the national liberation uprising of Kazakhs in seven volosts of Merken and Kulan regions [2] . Comes from the Botbai clan of the Dulat tribe of the Elder zhuz [3] .

Biography
In late August, about 2,000 warriors, armed with spears, axes, clubs, attacked Merck . They were destroyed by a detachment sent from Tashkent . Akkoz-Batyr was detained and imprisoned [2] . After the October Revolution, he was released. In 1919, he was badly beaten by bandits in Novotroitsky and died in bed in 1921.
